Dreams Unfulfilled: Why Kanye West can never get his dream Job at Nintendo
Kanye West seems to be doing fine with his career in Fashion and his Music empire, as he has recently been added to the Forbes list of Billionaires. But the truth of the fact is, Kanye deserves more. He has so many dreams unfulfilled and it’s killing him.
After his fashion apprentice, Virgil Abloh, whom he picked from a Chicago printing shop stole his dream job at Louis Vuitton, as the Creative Designer for Men’s Wear for Louis Vuitton, one of the most expensive luxury brand in the world. The event which almost dragged him into depression according to his statement while speaking to lowe,
“I felt like it was supposed to be me,”
West told Lowe.
“I was the Louis Vuitton Don. People still call me the Louis Vuitton Don on the street.”
He said, expressing his bitterness.
Kanye West have been on so many pursuits since then, the dreams he had never been given the chance to fulfil. Just some months ago, Kanye braced up for the race to his political career, as the President of the United States of America. The presidential election which he lost to Joe Biden indefinitely, he had earlier announced as far back as 2015 at the VMA, he also mentioned this aspirantion in his song “Facts.”
Just recently, the former president and COO of Nintendo of America Reggie, Fils-Aimé spoke with the Reggie and Harold podcast, speaking about the reasons why Kanye West was turned down multiple times, while he had anxiously proposed working with the iconic Video Game firm, “Nintendo.”
While speaking on the Talking Games With Reggie and Harold podcast episode, Fils-Aimé explained why Kanye West might never be able to work with Nintendo.
“Part of it was talking about what he was up to,”
Fils-Aimé said
“He was experimenting with a piece of video game content. He wanted reactions to it. He comes out and says, ‘I want to work with Nintendo.’ We had so many different projects at Nintendo going on, the possibility of doing something with Kanye just wasn’t there, and so I had to find a way to politely decline this opportunity to work with him.”
But, while he was trying to turn him down as politely as possible, Kanye West didn’t seem to back down on his pursuits. Even after multiple declines.
“I told him, ‘Kanye, you don’t want to work with us because we’re tough, we’re hard,”
he said.
“All we do is push for the very best content. We would not be the type of partner you would want to work with.’ And he looks at me and says, ‘Reggie, you’re exactly the type of partner I want because of that reason!’ It’s like, ‘Oh my gosh.’”
he further elaborated.
Kanye also went ahead to publish the trailer of a video game called “Only One,” along with a track of the same title, featuring Paul McCartney in 2016. It’s no surprise how hard Kanye’s Yeezy 450 Slides is getting roasted on the internet lately for it’s bizarre looks. It’s been a great and a really bad year for him all the same.
