Setting up in Accra, Ghana. The first ever Skating Park in Ghana, and one of the 10 standard skating parks in Africa, “Freedom Park” will be founded. All thanks to the collaboration between brands like Surf Ghana, Daily Paper, Limbo Accra and more featuring Off-White.
While the Freedom Park construction is scheduled to begin around March next year, there are already donations and other fundraising programs going on for the forthcoming project.
Along the line, Daily Paper clothing is launching a new collection in collaboration with Surf Ghana next week. A part of their “Beyond The Return” pop-up, which will now feature exclusive collaborative t-shirt with Off-White™.
The launching of these new set of apparels will take place in December 21, 2020, at Daily Paper’s pop-up store in Accra, Ghana. Hosting a house full of Accra’s finest talents, students, and tourists. The event holds alongside the sequel of the football tournament, which started in 2019, on the pitch built in collaboration with Puma back in 2017.
However, all proceeds from this mouthful events are assigned to the construction of the “Freedom Park'” scheduled to begin in the first quarter of next year 2021.
Jefferson Osei, the cofounder of Daily Paper further elaborated on the setting up of the Freedom Skating Park,
“With this initiative, we hope to evolve the skate culture in Ghana to the next level and give locals a platform to grow their talents within a space that will hopefully become their biggest training ground to date.”
More than board sports, the park will be a creative hub for young Ghanaians to come together, exchange ideas, inspire each other and build their futures through recreational activities.
They now have a place where they can be themselves, freely develop their skills together with like-minded people and reach their true potential. Hence the name Freedom Skate Park.”He further elaborated
