Music 2020: Obesere’s classic ‘Egungun Be Careful’ will Remain Relevant for Life

Several reports have affirmed that the comeback of the 19 year old song by Fuji icon, Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere, entitled Egungun Becareful, was indeed historic and record breaking.

It was a moment that took the whole world by storm. Virtually everyone in the world, regardless of the colour or race or status, caught the Egungun Becareful virus and seemed out of control.

In actual fact, it has been described in many quarters, as the best thing that could ever happen to the singer this year 2020, because the reblow of the album would linger forever in the minds of music lovers and remain indelible in the annals of history.

In a most recent report on this same song, which was posted on a reputable blog called more, written by Starr Williams, entitled “#Music 30 Biggest Nigerian Songs Of 2020”, it was boldly written in the headlines that “No. 3 & 24 Will Last Forever”.

According to Starr, the 30 songs were selected based on the following: Criteria Year of Release: Which must be in 2020; Airplays; Streams; Social media acceptance; Popularity on the streets; Celebrity endorsements; Charts Critic reviews.

In no particular order, the trendy song Egungun Becareful was numbered 24. This is to say that the level at which the song went viral was robust and eventually became a way of life. If anyone tries to go wrong, he or she would be warned like “Let your Egungun Becareful or else it will enter Express,” meaning if you are not careful with the way you are going or doing things, you might end up in trouble.

Therefore, this is one of the many reasons why it will remain and last forever. Lest we forget, the old song was remixed with the zanku crooner, Zlatan Ibile, which is still making massive wave across the globe.
