How Travis Scott Became the Biggest Brand in Hip Hop in 2020

Houston Rapper, Jacques Bermon Webster II popularly known as Travis Scott has become a powerhouse brand in the world of hip-hop. While the whole world is on lockdown and businesses are crumbling, the Astroworld is booming.

Without a single album through the entire 2020, Travis Scott had managed to haul in over 4 billion streams on Spotify. With vicious works, trying to alternate his means of income, during a time that many artists/public figures and businesses suffered sustainability, credits to his wild diehard fan base from all around the world.

Travis had big brands and companies begging him for multi-million dollar partnerships, after he had smartly put all his best into building himself into a trailblazer brand. While other music artists are seeking alternative ways to earn more income during the 2020 pandemic era, Travis Scott simple poured what he had into his personality, the efforts which has paid off for him big time.

Earlier in April, Travis Scott debuted an animated concert in collaboration with Fortnite, alternative to his live performance due to the lockdown. With the 10 minutes animated video, which amassed over 100 million views on YouTube, Travis Scott launched his career into the Video Game world.

Following the uproar of the animated concert in collaboration with Fortnite, Sony called on Travis Scott for partnership on it’s forthcoming PlayStation 5. Featuring Scott as a Creative partner, the deal which Forbes rumoured to worth over $20 million dollars. The partnership features Scott’s voiceover on it’s commercial, and co-branded game consoles. In the future, it is likely that Sony comes up with Travis Scott’s video game.

In May 2020, Travis Scott collaborated with Kid Cudi for “THE SCOTTS,” the song which in no time made it’s way in to the Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart, leading the No 1 song on the chart. Kid Cudi’s first ever appearance on Billboard Hot 100 chart No 1 song.

Later in November 2020, Travis Scott was featured on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 issue cover. No doubts, other Travis Scott’s life changing partnerships like his Nike branded sneaker collections, rare McDonald partnership for his $250 McDonald’s carpenter jorts, McNuggets shaped body pillow and his “Travis Scott meal,” his Byredo Space Rage scent (the sold out $95 scented candle and $285 perfume) and many more deals are a mouthful.

Travis Scott made the best out of his career during the hardest time. Setting a record for his peers, a powerhouse in the hip-hop scene.
