Twitter set to feature Billboard’s “Hot Trending” Music Chart

Twitter has announced it’s collaboration with Billboard Charts, unveiling a new feature which is coming soon via the Twitter App, called “Billboard Hot Trending.”

In an announcement made yesterday, Wednesday May 6, 2021. Twitter made the disclosure, revealing that it’s new feature called “Billboard Hot Trending” will utilize realtime analytics of daily music related discussion by users of the Twitter App. A daily chart based on trending music-related topics.

The discussion carried out during it’s Digital Content NewFronts presentation, Twitter further explained the content categories of the new feature, including the gossip around new releases, awards show, and festival moments, music nostalgia threads and more. Meaning that the “Billboard Hot Trending” chart it will not be an analysis of the most streamed songs across steaming platforms, Instead the hottest trending songs based on the discussions of users on the app.

“This is all tied to conversation,”

Twitter’s head of entertainment partnerships, Sarah Rosen ha earlier told Bloomberg during a discussion.
